Biographical

A trial lawyer for more than four decades, Pat's practice focuses on the defense of hospitals, health care providers and nursing homes. He has tried many medical malpractice cases to jury verdict and defended numerous personal injury cases over the course of his legal career. He was named Lexington’s 2015 Medical Malpractice Defense “Lawyer of the Year” and 2016 Personal Injury Defense “Lawyer of the Year” by U.S. News−Best Lawyers.


Pat is a Fellow of The American College of Trial Lawyers. Currently, he is a former Regional Director of DRI, having served the region that includes Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. He has been President of the Kentucky Defense Counsel and the State Representative of DRI. Pat has also been a member of AJJ and KJA for more than 30 years.

Applying the wealth of trial and practical experience he’s acquired over the course of his legal career, Pat is an experienced mediator. As a certified mediator, Pat has mediated hundreds of cases involving personal injury, complex torts, medical malpractice and nursing home claims, as well as contracts and other business disputes.
